US embassy in Cairo is now allowing Gaza Freedom Marchers with US Passports to enter the embassy in groups of 10. Once inside we are told we will be met by consular officials one by one. Met with political rep in embassy Greg Logrefo talked about dire situation in Gaza and international complicity for more than an hour. We asked for meeting with ambassador to discuss facilitating humanitarian, solidarity mission to Gaza. No commitment given. Medea and Kit stayed inside. I came to report back 38 Americans surrounded by police outside. No journalists permitted. Bottom line: USG supports the siege of Gaza, offers excuses & stonewalling. During meeting political officer Greg Logrefo confirmed that US Army Corps of Engineers is providing technical assistance to build underground wall. Sent from my iPhone
